You know what I mean, he’s turned into our closer. We didn’t spend 100M for someone who maintains possession and wins fouls. His career hasn’t progressed despite the trophy wins.

Not bothered about Wirtz, don't see anything really special about him, but Gibbs-White does not improve us one jot, rather keep what we have. He's Kalvin Phillips (at time of buying him) 'light'.
People who try and convince themselves that Gibbs-White is good enough (not even close) are the same as those 'crying' over Wirtz.
There's a video of Forest players being asked who their 'player of the season' is......Sels most popular, followed by Wood and Milenkovic, says everything ;)

Plenty to respond to there, but I’ll just pick the last sentence. I’m sure that fact they know he’s very likely leaving them plays a role in players saying stuff like that on a club video.
 
My view on this deal is going to depend on the price...

If the 70M number is correct, I think it's a solid piece of business.

But at 100, no thanks.
 
God help him when he signs. Opinions have already been made. If he checks social media it won’t be the welcome he’d think. Not even kicked a ball for us or signed but everyone’s already judged him.

Price is irrelevant 'on the pitch'......you get the same whether you spent £10 or £billion. A good transfer is buying better than what you have, a bad transfer is buying not as good.
I know books need to be balanced....but beating Arsenal in the 'net spend' competition, isn't the trophy we are aiming for ;)

In your opinion.....alot of the 'glazing' posts, look 'copy & pasted' from the Phillips thread, when we were buying him. Our slow, aging, lost it midfield, which gets blamed for everything .....along with, our entire defence injured for half of it, as good as no Haaland (2nd half the season) and Foden (all of it) who have not offered much to say the least.....are still better than Forest, who have not been 'carried' by Gibbs-White.
Teams 'around us' are not full of players better than we have.....or we'd be needing a win to get in the uefa conference tomorrow.
Kelvin Phillips level? He was a starter for England at the time ;)

It's always been like that though hasn't it, it's more constant now with the rise of football forums/twitter/podcasts and bloggers etc.

It is odd when you stop and actually think about it.
