We got hounded for spending money on Toure and KDB. Gundo joined after a big injury and Silva albeit a great player was never really linked to the likes of Barca or Madrid who sweep up all Spanish talent.

They are obviously 4 of the most important players in our recent history.

I’m not saying MGW will be but he deserves a chance instead of being shot down. If the club decide to buy him, support him. They have far more knowledge about football than me and you.

Stones, Walker, Lescott, Barry, Milner are all English players I can think of that weren’t at the highest level, but high enough with plenty of prem experience and took their games to the next level here.

We won’t. Bobb, Savio, Doku, Haaland, Marmoush, Nico, Rodri, Dias, Khusanov, Josko certainly aren’t going anywhere soon and we will recruit more.

To be fair, 2014 was the last time you had anyone good enough to get in our team until the last couple of years. We were hardly likely to bid for Granit Xhaka or Per Mertesacker, were we?

Rodri, Josko and Haaland are world class. Dias is more than decent and so is Marmoush.

Savio, Doku and Bobb are lightning and something we’ve needed for a while. But we do need more goal scorers out wide or for them to develop this into their game, I’m more confident in Bobb than this.

We are also clear after Wirtz. Whether we get him is another matter. Not like MGW is the only name linked and potentially the biggest name targeted.

The rebuild will be huge. Walker will be replaced and not like we will sign a no body.
