Its all about opinions but Bernie for some reason has been dreadful this season and I was very surprised that the club gave Gundo and additional twelve months. Seems that KDB is playing better and he claims he`s much better now he has fully recovered from his injury. Were we too hasty in not giving him a twelve month extension based on these final few games ?

KDB was anonymous today, the Gundo extension was baked into his contract based on appearances, club didn’t realise how finished he was when we got him back

I didn`t see the game but Tim Sherwood commented that he was great in the first half, but to be fair there was hardly a mention from him about KDBs second half performance as he was getting giddy about Nico O.

Rightly or wrongly a lot of fans now see the financial side of recruitment as part of the fun, part of the debate. Also most people want to feel that they have a deal and even though it's not our outlay it's still our club.

I think he's the latest in a long line of Premier League players who have outperformed their level in one season before regressing to their average thereafter.

If the fee is good he could be a decent option from the bench but if it's over £50m and he's replacing prime Bernardo or Gundo we'll continue to slip away from our previous highs.

Why do I keep thinking he played for Arsenal at some point? I keep thinking he's one of those arsenal or Chelsea players who never made it despite looking like a beast at youth level. I do remember he got a bollocking for partying during COVID though, hope that side has long gone as one thing I'm especially pleased with at City is how many of our players are genuinely good role models, wholesome types despite having wads of cash and a girl on their arm that you'd give a leg just to see smile at you.

Can't say I've seen enough to think he's consistently good enough, but I'm sure City knows a lot more about him than me. Am sure we were linked in the summer too and he was actively house hunting in the area, but we're the rumours at the time to Trafford? Could be this has no bearing on our pursuit of another top class midfielder or attacker.

I did also once famously class De Bruyne as one to forget after seeing him struggle for Chelsea against lower league opposition but I'm interested to see where we think this lad fits in with Manchester City reborn.

I don’t think there’s many Gundogan’s or Bernardo level talents on the market at the moment. Gibbs-White is a young, hungry midfielder who’s been one of the leagues best midfielders this season. He can play both as an 8 or 10. We’ve lacked physicality in midfield, creativity without De Bruyne, qualifies in the press which he can bring.

Personally I would’ve bought Neves when he was available last summer seemed a no-brainer. Reijnders is probably the best player I can see like for like for Gundogan - but I’m doubtful he would leave. I think we could mould MGW into a greater player.

My main concern is he’s been playing in a very different system with a lot more space on transition to what we get - need to see more of him up against low-blocks. He was great against Arsenal I think it was though so promising signs.

£40-50 mill tops and still dont want him a signing that shows we want to be in and around top 6 without challenging for the title..

I think he'd fit in well. Decent player, though he seems to be a bit of a weasel. But if we got him he'd be our weasel.
