Morgan Gibbs-White

I don’t envisage him as replacing de Bruyne, but he would bring much needed energy to the midfield and has a bit of the Tevez about him, the good bit. He’s here, there, and everywhere on the pitch, and he’s no shrinking violet either, so he’d not be shy in telling those ahead of him to get their finger out and press with a bit more heart. Might upset a few but we could arguably do with that.

I watched the tournament and came away most impressed by Gibbs white.

Everything screams Forrest being an absolute pain in the back side and screwing us for everything but if city are this far down the road surely they have some indication that forest will sell?

If Forest qualify for the CL then I'd imagine this makes it financially a difficult deal for us to do, at the price Forest would want. We're no doubt hoping Forest's finances necessitate sales and the player himself expressed a desire to leave.

We have no room for anybody other than the main guy. We don't need squad fillers so whoever comes in are what we've deemed the best available. MGW wouldn't fit that category for me.

Hoping he secretly likes a bet and we can dodge another one like with paqueta.
 
Think this as been in the works since last summer I remember him apparently house hunting up here and most thought it was the rags.

We're about to unfortunately soon part ways with DeBruyne & (Bernardo) Silva. Seemingly Simons & Wirtz are either staying put or on the way to another club. Could this be Rodrygo & Morgan Gibbs White FTW guys? Without any doubt very intriguing and interesting moves.

Nobody knows the situation with Grealish. If he leaves, that leaves us a HG down. Marmoush and Doku cover the left wing spot and Gibbs White is Gundos replacement for when he leaves in a years time. Wirtz replaces Kev.
 
Cant say there is much about this potential transfer that I like.

The player is good but not great, he is closer to 30 than 20, the fee will most likely be way more than what he is worth (imo). This is exactly the kind of signing we should avoid, spending huge money on not young squad players unlikely to improve significantly. We should either sign better, younger, or cheaper. Our squads problem is not a lack of players of MGWs quality, is that we have way too many players on a level not higher than that.

If we are so desperately in need of home grown players that we must spend huge money on good but not great 25y+ players from Nottingham questions should be asked about our (lack of) squad planning, including selling several capable home grown talents.

If this turns out to be true it would be a worrying sign that Viana may already be out of his depth.

Simons and Wirtz are different positions both tens , Gibbs white more of an eight. If Wirtz was going elsewhere we would be linked with Eze as he’s a ten.
 
For me he's more of a Bernardo type player (not in skill / style on the ball) in terms of his tenacity and work rate in the middle.

He runs all day and does create a lot of positive play with clever passes and powerful running with the ball.

Hopefully the fee is appropriate and not over the top. But it's not my money so... Let's just hope he's the player we need.
 
Stones or Grealish out the door he will make up the home grown numbers I suppose

Hg isn't much of a problem and shouldn't be in our thinking.

We've got Carson, stones and ake still even without grealish, walker and Phillips. club trained we've got foden and mcatee at the minute but we've got bobb, Lewis and O'Reilly all on the verge of needing to be registered too, that will mean they'll be club trained overspill that fill any hg spaces. And that's before the possibility of anybody else coming through or even former academy players perhaps coming back.

It has to be, we need at least 2 full backs and 2 midfielders and making room in the free list for 3 players is hard but for 4 if Grealish goes we need to make use of that space he creates and MGW is a good player with the potential to become very good in that 8 position.
I don’t think we need to worry about club trained overspill for a while, only expecting Foden and Bobb in there next season.
