There is no kdb replacement. People get caught up in that weird frame of thinking. We forget now that KDB himself was a Yaya replacement. Back when people were absolutely certain That there could never be a Yaya replacement. And in sime sense they were right. No one is like Yaya. But then we replaced him with a different kinda player.Funnily enough, had a few conversations with people over the last year or so, thinking it would be worth signing him.
He can switch play very quickly and is very aggressive when it comes to contact and running.
Could see scoring quite a bit crashing the box and would be a very useful addition.
Too many people thinking he is the KDB replacement.
What we need is a potential top end player who would being his own style to the table. Wirtz is the KDB og his time the only difference being everybody now accepts the predominance of stats.
While back in the day ( and even amongst our fans) folks were more likely to have faith in players they've gone yo watch st the stadium a few times. So we are unlikely to get the Yaya or Kevin discount. Any player able to replace their quality would already have stays showing it. And unfortunately everyone now believes in stats. This was not the case 10 -12 years ago.
That said, MGW idnt doing it stats wise, so he cant be the marque purchase. He just can't. :(
