Morgan Gibbs-White

Harsh grouping Grealish in with those. The media make out he was a world beater at Villa, but in reality he was a steady player. His season during the Treble season is the best football hes ever played in his career.

I’m a big fan of Grealish and will never class him as a flop due to his contribution in the treble winning season. But he’s been underwhelming to say the least and hasn’t lived up to his price tag.

I think he lacks the arrogance to stand out in a side like ours.

Bang average footballer, but in typical English style, he looks good because he runs about a bit and gets stuck in.

Despite my Kalvin Phillips PTSD I will agree he is class. I also think having the greatest manager of all time who can improve him massively is a big plus. ( Was not able to do it with Kalvin. Did he :D).

Only problem is - he is not enough and he is not KDB replacement. Either you buy a Salah regen plus MGW to compensate for KDB or you do the MGW Wirtz/Xavi Simmons/Cherki midfield with our existing wingers.
The requirement is simple - 20 Goals and 20 Assists from players who are not Omar or Haaland.

Forest have found their level now. It was always going to come.

That team, including MGW, is mid-table at best.

Top player in mid table team
Works hard
Will be better with better players around him
Excellent Long range passing
Pep will make him even better

I thought i was in the kalvin phillips thread

What makes you think Pep will improve him? Has he improved Grealish, Doku, Sav, Nunes, Lewis. I could add more .

Has he improved anyone? He simply molds players into cogs to fit his machine. Haaland any better now than he was at Dortmund? De Bruyne?
He never improved Walker for example.. he was as poor on the ball when he left as he was when he got here.
Look at his long term project, Phil. He cant play for England because it's not the same system.
I'd actually argue he tends to make players, particularly attacking ones, worse by sucking the individuality and flair out of them.

Walker's crossing throughout his career at City was abysmal... not addressed. Haaland forever on the back post not adressed.

Some of the takes on this thread are ridiculous, top player. Skill set and profile that ticks so many boxes that we need to bring in this summer.
Hes no De bruyne but ffs we could sign any midfielder in the world over the next ten years and no one would be

Yes, I think he has, made Grealish the player we needed to win the treble.Doku slow progress but he is becoming more aware, save Savinho. Nunes is better than last season and Lewis, was better next to Rodri, and has maybe stalled without Rodri.
Speak to anyone in football, almost all ex players he coached ,coaches even pundits good and bad they will say Pep improves players.
So those things apart not much reason to think he improves a player.

I would argue Kalvin Phillips was better for Leeds and England than what MGW is for Forest.

Got many pelters for calling Phillips shite before we signed him

- He was slow, Leeds almost didn't sign him because of it
- Awful in the air
- Didn't create fuck all
- Couldn't play lone 6
- Injury prone to top it off

It was a braindead signing from the start, pant well and truly pulled down.

Imo Gibbs-White is far superior, in almost every sense.
