I loved his almost shoot-on-sight attitude yesterday. He was wide of the mark, but the idea of just trying without fear felt quite refreshing.

I've certainly warmed to the idea the sort of player we need in midfield will be interesting to see what the fee is though.

I think the fee and the 5 year deal need to be considered in tandem. His fee might be higher than we might want - say £80m - but if he's paid closer to £150k than the £350k grealish gets there would be a c£50m saving over the 5 years on the wages, so would balance a little bit

Lowering the wage bill doesn't solely extend to the big hitters, though. The fringe and academy players, those on loan where we're paying a substantial chunk of wage, will all be pushed towards the door.

We gave Grealish Sterlings wages and he was way more hyped up than MGW. I find it crazy we gave him such a package when he never won anything before us
