I reckon Pep maybe judges to much of what players do on the trining pitch, players need proper game time ….

Interesting approach to trust the poor players in training and see for fun if they're any different in PL matches.

But don't moan if we're mid table. You can't have both.

But equally, I can see an alternative being we sign 2 leftbacks (Ait Nouri and Robinson) and permanently allow O Reilly to be a left 8.

Then as the right 8, where MGW plays, thats where Foden and Bobb play.

Ive got Sky Sports but no dodgy stream. Watched Forest v Chelsea (rather than the Scouse love-in) while continually refreshing the match day thread here.

MGW had a poor game. If we were basing things on just that match, I would have zero idea why we'd want him.

We need more energy in the middle scoooooo fukin obviously - staggering some seem to forget it. Same croons who would still take a point away to Wolves probs.

So as homegrown MGW or phillips/ macatee It's a big yes from me. Pep could make him a mean mf baller

We've gone from cherry picking the best talent in Europe to getting mediocre players and worst bit is we aren't learning from our mistakes.

We wouldn't spend the money for van dyke and we have seen what he has been for liverpool, same with rice at arsenal. The same is likely to happen with Wirtz, meanwhile we will try and save a few bob and could end up with a player we can't shift in a few years.

It really was t like that at all.
Rice wanted to stay in London and Wirtz has apparently chosen the Dippers.
In neither case are we “saving a few Bob”
As much as we wish, not everyone wants to join us.

But he has to get development time at some point if we want it to happen.

Reijnders and Foden would be the main starters.

O Reilly then learns by playing there, and especially from Reijnders and Gundogan.

Im also happy with him just being a LB fulltime, but Im also of the mind of if left 8 is his long term plan, then just start now? Dont delay those growing pains.

I think he could be the kind of signing Liverpool made with MacAllister. Very effective team player. Fingers crossed.
