Morgan Gibbs-White

But if we bring in MGW in place of an overseas player (e.g. Gundo), then that means we're no longer limited to a homegrown RB, so we no longer need to massively overpay for Livramento and can look at getting better value elsewhere.
No it doesn’t buying one homegrown player or 2 has nothing to do with whether we can buy a non homegrown right back. It would just mean we we have to sell more homegrown players as well as the same amountbof non homegrown.

Swings and roundabouts, I guess.

Wouldn’t necessarily be averse to this, but given the source is Football Insider I’ll treat it with a pinch of salt.

A few years back Wayne Veysey worked for Goal and had decent sources. No idea if he still does. Anyway MGW agreeing terms with us isn’t news, any progress on a fee with Forest would be newsworthy.

I'd be buzzing with this. Gundo and McAtee leave and MGW comes in. His tenacity, energy and genuine ability would be great here. He'd really compliment Rodri and Reijnders too.

And with the new tactics seemingly being built around our '8's moving into space and making runs from deep, I think he'd be a perfect fit.
A player who annoys me- but at the same time impresses me and know that if he were in our side I'd be all about his attitude and the tenacity he has and how it could buoy this team in dire need of that type of grit.

It would be coming out of the same budget.
Yes if we bought both, but buying one doesn’t mean we can buy a non home grown cheaper alternative to the other. Buying MGW we would still need the new right back to be homegrown. Only difference is we’d need to sell Grealish and Ake or Stones to fit them both in.
The way I see it we have a list of players we are probably looking or considering selling
Gundogan Kovacic,Grealish, Stones ,Akanji. We would probably need to get all the way down to Akanji before we could consider a none homegrown right back.

I'll be honest, I was just going off what @I'm With Stupid was saying.

I've tried several times and given up on understanding how the HG quota stuff works. So I'll just take what others say at face value.

Regardless, Livramento is my first choice right back. If we can add Gibbs-White to replace Gundo then that would be great but I can't see us spending £150m+ on those two players in one summer.

No I can’t either.

Leaking to the press that he’s agreed terms with City. I’m sure that’ll go down well with his club.
Probably leaked by his agent so he can get better terms.

I'd like MGW at City assuming we are shipping out Gundo and Kova whose best days are behind them. With Grealish & McAtee also goners that'd be 4 midfielders out and 3 in with Reijnders, MGW & Cherki.

However the "source" of this info isn't exactly A1 - if David Ornstein or Jack Gaughan back it up then I'd take more notice.

Maybe if he does sign say for 60 million and then they buy mcatee for 25 million look good on the books for both clubs

Rodri
Mgw reijnders

That would be a very strong midfield with mgw and reijnders playing box to box

Nico
Bernardo O'Reilly

As back up would mean the sales of gundogan, kovacic, perrone, Phillips
