Mosquitos and bites

Yeah they're midge bites by the look of it.
I think you're right, I selected the wrong picture. From memory black fly bites are really bad and more irritating. I got bitten several years ago whilst barbecuing on the banks of the Ebro, Spain. Was in the evening before sunset. I couldn't even see them or hear them. I was scratching that hard the morning after that I bled so I went to the local chemist and they gave me some honey cream which soothed the skin. Still took about a week or so before they disappeared though.

Had similar last year working up in Alaska, could never see what was biting me but they'd get up in my hat and bit the shit out of my fore head, neck and scalp, itched for months afterwards

Yep the hot teaspoon definitely works, just make sure it’s not too hot, don’t want a burn on top of a bite.
i bought one of these, you can get them at boots or amazon,
a click thingymajig, thats sends a very small electric piezoelectric charge to your bite,it has done nothing for me,but some say it helps them.

They don't like the sweat of some people so, you have to collect THEIR sweat, and wipe it all over yourself. They will avoid you.

I just use a 100% DEET product. I use rubbing alcohol on bites if I neglect to use the DEET.

Wondering whether mine were black fly bites now, never felt or saw anything, the mosquitoes I did hear and see seemed to fuck of sharpish as normal, these other and bled like fuck (me scraping them with my nails probably made them a lot worse).

Stays with you forever I believe?
no mate,i thought that, i had it in 1993 and later in the year i went to Mexico ,while visiting my doctor before i went ,to see what jabs he recommended, I brought it up about malaria.i said there is no point me taking anti malarials as I'd just had it and it would be for life,he said no,the treatment i had recieved had cured it and i needed to take anti malarial tablets as normal in future.

I didn't feel anything either till the next morning when i noticed my skin was covered in itchy bright red bites. I felt ill for two days due to the poison they inject.

There use to be a plugin called Raid, you can buy at the pharmacists when abroad it stops all manner of biting fuckers dead in their tracks.

Totally agree with the above......We lived about 1/2 mile from the Ebro and mowing the terraces was a nightmare. Swarms of Black flies. They live within a 20 mile radius of fresh water and the females can sense exhaled breath from a mammal ( carbon dioxide ) and zoom in for a feed.
My wife was assaulted by the bastards, blood everywhere, and I had to take her to hospital after the pharmasist saw the bites, one huge injection of something in her arse solved the problem but they take ages to clear up.
The locals used to rub the leaves of a certain bush on their skin as a deterrant but iirc eating garlic kept them away aswell.
