It'll always be Kinkladze for me, if only because we were so downtrodden. The sense of disappointment when you'd get to the ground and find out he was out injured, was more palpable than for any other player of my lifetime. And if not Kinky, then Ya Ya, Peter Barnes or SWP. Ya Ya striding downfield, the opposition scattered to the winds, was a truly glorious sight.......

Suppose it depends if we’re talking about excited as in their contribution over their full City career. Or in anticipation between them signing and playing?

If it’s the latter, Haaland certainly takes some beating. Pretty much all the modern greats have arrived as good players but not really superstars.

There was just a buzz about the Haaland signing that off the top of my head I can only really think of Trevor Francis that compares to it. And Haaland only needs three more goals to equal Francis at City already.

Haaland is a goal scorer no doubt, but exciting on the ball he is not, he barely touches it during a game
