SWP > Chelsea was pretty gut wrenching ... I remember I'd been to see City play Macc in a friendly and all the talk when I got there was that SWP had turned up but left again. By the time I got home it was breaking news on Sky that he'd gone.


It was different then though. Losing players when you don't know if you'll replace them hurts more than being the so called richest club in the world and knowing that whoever you sell, will be replaced by someone better in the long term.

Don't think there'll be a player of the ADUG era who's leaving would make me feel like SWP's leaving did.

Paul Stewart and SWP. Got good money for both but still hammered home the fact that we were, at the time, a little club compared to the likes of Spuds and Chelsea. Thank god those days are over!
