Most Gutted you've Been About a player leaving

Balotelli - not necessarily because of what he did on the pitch, but what he contributed as a member of the squad and the culmulative effect of his leaving following the departure of big personalities and well liked members of what was a winning squad (De Jong and Johnson).
I can't help but feel that the air of deflation hangover from the disatrous summer window will be even greater now Mario has left.
I know those that remain are well paid and few will have any sympathy for them - but we all like a lively, fun working environment - which (Mario and Mancini fights excepted) it largely was (if CityTV is to be believed). It's all very well having a team of dedicated professionals Kompany's, Milner's and Barry's, but teams thrive where there is comerarderie and banter and I'm sure for the likes of Silva, Y Toure and Aguero, being with personalites, such as the recent departees, made up for many a piss soaked day at Carrington. I fear this player exit will have a detrimental effect on our squad mentally and at worse prompt others to think of moving on.

Yes - I am a miserable negative sod at the moment

Rodney Marsh. I was as miserable as f*ck when he left. I stood on the Kippax with thousands of us singing 'Dont go Rodney, don't go' and the other one, the chant Rodney Marsh and Tampa Bay Rowdies. Never felt as bad about any other player as I did him.

how has this got to 8 pages and i'm the first to mention Shaun Goater.

granted he wasn't the most talented footballer i've seen leave us, but i was truly gutted when he left, especially in light of the treatment he seemed to get just before leaving.

Nige was the other for me. i'll never get my head around that one.

Clive Wilson leaving hit me hard, I even wrote a letter to the club complaining, I was only 12 or summat though. Deffo SWP to Chelsea and I remember being extremely pissed off when Tony Coton went to the rags

Clive Wilson for me too. He was the only quality player we had at the time. Others include Paul Stewart and Dave Phillips. Once you're older than the players you can't (shouldn't be able) to look up to them in the same way.

Paul Stewart is a good call.

Gutted when he left for Spurs.

Shaun Wright-Phillips. Was absolutely gutted. Never slagged Chelsea off, even once, for it though.

I had pretty much the same feelings. I was truly heartbroken when it became official that he has left us. awful day.
