I’m not a car geek. All of the cars I’ve driven have been bog standard and boring as fuck. Like a one night stand with a fat bird who wants you to do everything, but doesn’t want to do anything in return. But for some reason, I don’t know why, I’ve always fancied a one night stand with a…..

My dad had one when I was very young and I thought it was the greatest car in the world. So different to all the bog standard stuff on our street.

Had similar in a Morris Minor ( 1380 cc ) but with Twin 45 Dellotos, which I changed back to twin 1 1/2" SUs, likewise topped out at just over 80 mph

Dearie me, how did you stop it?? For a while I had a 105E Anglia that someone had put a 1300 Escort engine in but it had the original drum brakes. Best cure for constipation when you need to stop quickly.....

First Car? You lucky bastard. Mine was an Avenger 1250 that I towed home from an auction in Rochdale. Turned out to be a great car - at the time my Dad had a MK2 Cortina 1600GT estate which I think turned out to be very rare - typically he sold it cheap lol
