There is because Jack was the best.

Semantics a bit I think but I’d say Jack is the greatest, at his peak Tiger was the best.

The way I’ve always put it — Nicklaus is the greatest golfer ever, but Woods played the best golf of all time. 18 majors vs. The Tiger Slam “year”, winning the US Open at Pebble by FIFTEEN shots, among other things. No one has had his peak. Both incredible. And Hogan was no slouch either — who knows how many majors he’d have won were it not for his car accident, WW2 or scheduling (he only played in one Open and skipped the PGA a lot).

I’d argue another with a near-perfect swing was Tom Weiskopf.

It was that US open win for me. Still the most impressive thing Mcilroy has done too when he won it in 2011.
