Most underrated player to play for city

Holding midfielders and full backs are often underrated. Ditto strikers who didn’t score many but contributed with assists and hold up play.

Bobby McDonald, always loved to see him going up for a corner, must have had a better goals ratio than most of our recent defenders

Elano, what a player. Hed be an asset now, if only for his penalty taking.

He never played in a title winning team. The one year he played for us Chelsea won it.

Gareth Barry.

Idiots wanted De Jong to start ahead of him but the more cultured fan knew Gaz Baz was the bollocks.
You’re right mate, false memory.
Still did well for us IMO.

Kevin Horlock. Of course.
Gaz Baz, the Everton supporters realising just how good he was made it all the sweeter, that he’d been our best kept secret. De Jong attracted all the attention whilst Barry just went about his business and very rarely had a less than 7/8 out of 10 performance.
The only real shocker I remember him having was Southampton away, think it was Poch’s first game in charge, just recall him being the worst of a bad lot that day. He probably did have a few more, but, time clouds the fond memories.

Spencer Prior the first 3 months we had him

Kevin Horlock particularly in his time playing with Benarbia and Berkovic. He did all their donkey work and kept it simple. He also scored some important goals for us the season we came up under Royle.

Also the “little genius” Paul Walsh
Walshy was brilliant and did all the hard work for big quinny.

Not by city fans. By fans of every other club 100%. He should be talked about as one of the PL greats
Fans of other clubs are biased, as are we. Most ex pros working as pundits, as well as the non-tabloid media, recognise the value of Fern to the team. They see past the lazy "tactical fouls" nonsense, and understand his value to the team. I pay no heed to rival fans' opinions.
