MOTD hansen/shearer comments

Did I hear Hansen say,"As a spectacle it was a non-event"?
Was he there? Full house with both sets of fans giving their commitment and energy.A Bitter Liverpool fan that cant take the flak his beloved team are getting, deservedly I may add,and just so happens to find himself in a position to depress MOTD Viewers every week hes on. And crying about his beloved Team, and BBC and MOTD had to give him special compensation for his Match Analysis on his Liverpool team with Lineker apologising for missing the cue.
Lineker;Where do you feel Liverpool are at present?
Hansen;Mixed emotions because last season we finished 7th.Total doom and gloom and then they got Roy and signed Joe Cole,Torres and Gerrard who said they were going might be staying, and then It was total optimism because you get a couple of players round the edges and you might never win the premiership but you might have a decent go at it,and definetly finish top four. The way they started the way their playing now is back to doom and gloom. They just arent good enough Im afraid.
Hello BBC
Its not just Liverpool we tune in to see,or want to see or hear about. It might be difficult; but Impartiality would be an idea.

Yep, described it as a non event football wise, 2 italian managers and dull. Clearly doesnt understand possession football and 2 top teams cancelling each other out.

Thought it was a brilliant game myself

Far from being a non event it was the most important result of the season for any team in the prem. It showed that Chelsea can be beaten and how, it also keeps the top four together rather than a 10 point gap opening. But most of all it showed the real credentials of mcfc to become champions.

Very well done city and let's murder the next team now!!!

the football played by both teams yesterday was excellent
good passing, brilliant tackling and superb tactical awareness by both teams

hansen and shearer are ex-players and not managers, unless you count shearer's eight games which were truly successful and a mark of how much he knows

Lol, even my missus was shouting that at the telly when they were giving their 'analysis'

And Linekers parting shot, 'Chelsea had an off day' gave me a wry smile as it took him longer than I anticipated for him to say it.

Didn't Hansen also say we look like strangers against the big teams? Even though over the past season and abit we have an incredible record against the so called 'big 4'.
You could see how much it hurt them all to say we looked good!

I would agree that I thought it was an enthralling game, but for the neutral that is looking to see goalmouth scrambles, shots at goal and chances created it would have been somewhat dull a game, and if it had been any side other than City, I would probably have been bored.
It was a war of attrition, and it was always likely to be so, two tactically astute managers with two well drilled and well organised defences meant that the free flowing open attractive football that most love to enjoy was never likely to be on show, but yesterday the result was all important, and we set up in a manner to stop chelsea playing the open game they are capable of, they in turn treated us with the utmost respect and had men behind the ball every time they lost posession, except once :-)

Hansen: about us 'Formidable' asked about our potential this season 'could be a force'
Shearer: critical of too many crosses into box when only small Tevez and Silva in box.....but praised Mancini for half time talk and players used more guile in second half
Hansen: on Kompany 'Positionally Perfect' all afternoon.....our leader.... also true team performance of players able to rely on each other....

I Thought very fair, constructive comments especially Hansen although he did let himself down by saying tnere had been no togetherness up until today which is wrong.....
I think they are slowly getting it............the blue moon is rising.......slowly...[yes i'm a Mancini critic!].....but rising it is folks..............................................

oops just notice already a thread..........can this be merged? will I be banned?...

He also said that we had good team spirit... which we knew all along.

-- Sun Sep 26, 2010 9:19 am --

well said Law74... it was enthralling and an exciting game if you were a fan... or an opponents manager... but for neutrals it will really take love of the game itself to be entertained by this type of game...

Gerrard elbows a player. BBC refuse to discuss it and move onto the next game. Do you think if lets say De Jong commits the same offence it would be ignored. MOTD has now become a joke. Goals on Sunday is far superior
