MOTD time

Can anybody remember when a MOTD pundit ever gave us some praise ? I can't.
Our goals are as a result of a defensive mistake (Yaya should have been closed down etc)
Milner had a great game, working tirelessly and made one mistake where he mis-controlled a pass - so they highlight it along with other passes as sloppy and careles.
Mr personality said we turned up expecting to win !!
Even Sergios rocket was ignored, instead "he had missed a sitter earlier"

I watch and listen now just to laugh at them. Sky enthused about Silva and about City in general, praising the clever substitutions and saying how well we played. Shearer the knob was the total opposite.

Shearer was way too critical there.

Don't agree.

We were sloppy far too often, simple passes going astray, the replays showed it clearly.

He said we played very well in the last ten minutes, and in the end three points were all that mattered.

Fair comments for once from him.

Anyone who watched the match live, or knew the stats, will share the view that Shearer is a total knob. Typical MOTD. No credit for 2 superb strikes, or the 23 other attempts on goal. Unbelievable Silva performance. Milner not far behind. Fantastic team spirit evident - note the goal celebration/Lampard after Sergio scored. Excellent tactical changes, which worked a treat - if that had been Maureen, we'd have never heard the end of it. Never stopped and got a fully deserved victory in true champions' style.

What was that about an agenda?

You have put a comma and then a full stop. Did you edit out was a right c*nt ?
If you are not wumming tell me how Sky told it totally opposite to Shearer ?
If you have 70% possession you are bound to make a couple of mistakes simply because you have the ball more than the opposition.
Why show Milners one mistake ? He was excellent. Why say Kun 'missed a sitter' ?

one of the sky pundits said of david silva, its not only kids that could watch and learn it was also prem players,he said we have a few little quality Spanish players, mata corzolla, but silva was a couple of levels above them, and went on to compare silva with iniesta and xavi,

Just got the Sunday papers. The guy doing the rating for the City game gave Silva 7 out of 10 - the same mark as Kieran Richardson and Fabian Delphe. Ain't life a woman, one minute you're as good as Iniesta and Xavi, next minute you're as shit as Delphe and Kieran Richardson!

We had 27 shots, 68% possession, won 0-2 and we played poorly. So tell me Alan how did Villa play?

According to the Mirror and individual players marks out of 10, somewhat better it seems?

Funny old game football, especially when you are driven by an editorial agenda!

Alan Shearer is a fucking tool!

Not only can be not string a sentence together without sounding thick as fuck ("he done well" "he done fantastic there" "he did a poor shot"), he is monotone and dull. But also a shit pundit!

He is obviously showing some bitterness that he thinks his Newcastle should be in our position with the close call Newcastle had with the Sheikh.

We had the ball for almost 70% of the game and he showed the six times we wasted it. We had 27 attempts at goal, scored two lovely goals and restricted Villa to two chances all game but he had nowt positive to say about any of that.

Now we were a bit slow in possession at times and weren't clinical enough and were vulnerable to the counter attack. But he didn't even mention those things. If he'd criticised those three things I wouldn't have minded.

Linkekar's face and little dig at Shearer after his "punditry" of our game said it all. I reckon Linekar must be looking across at his pundits week after week and wondering what the fuck the BBC are playing at. They are woeful. Danny Murphy is the only decent one and they really underuse him. When you see the quality of GNeville Carragher Souness le Tissier and even Merson (thick, like Shearer, but knows his footy) over on Sky, the BBC really need a shake up.

Shearer was right to say that MP was over doing it in his praise for our performance, which was basically a 6 out of 10. If MP had been a tad less effusive he wouldnt have given Shearer the opportunity to contradict him.
