I'm thinking of putting in for my CBT and getting a 125cc bike . Just wondered if any other blues are bikers and have any tips for a first bike ?? Cheers

I did my CBT and got a Yamaha DT125, it very quickly became really boring, it just didn't have enough power so I passed my full bike test and got a Suzuki DRZ400SM and I love it. Might get a sports bike once I've got a few years no claims under my belt.

Good luck and make sure you sign a donor card before you start biking.

I have a Suzuki 750 Intruder, agree with woodhouse, don't bother with a 125, you'll soon want something bigger. I started off with a Honda 550 nighthawk, that didn't last long. My next bike will be a Harley.

Wrong time of year to start that sketch, wrong climate as well. The reality of using a motorbike is very different from the idea you have in your head.

Takes some balls to ride powerful bikes in the UK. I got scared trundling around the Thai countryside on my Honda Click 125.

Good time to buy a bike but not a good time of year to ride one.As an inexperienced biker you should work your way up. Winter is a suicidal time to move up to a big bike. If you can afford to , buy the bigger bike now as itll be cheaper than in spring. But stick on your smaller bike thru the winter to get more experience.
