Sometimes this Forum is just hilarious. The idea that fans of a football club that has won bugger all for over thirty years would turn their noses up at the best young manager in world football on the night of one of his best achievements just beggars belief, it really does. Anti football? A cheat?. His team has just played for over an hour with ten men, because a Barcelona player 'cheated' and got one of his players sent off for next to nothing, they produce a fantastic text book display of how to defend against top quality opposition with ten men, and all he gets is abuse. You really could not make it up. It couldn't be that you people have a not so hidden agenda could it?

Yeah, our agenda is deep down we don't want to win anything, we love the misery.

Or maybe it's because we think we already have a good enough manager in charge of us?

I agree with you hgblue about Mourinho's ability . However I don't think there is a chance in hell he's coming to City. And for that we should be glad. He may be a winner but he's an egocentric tosser who would make City even more unpopular than we currently are.

I don't care about being popular. We've had thirty years of that and I reckon it's over-rated. I don't know whether we're in with a chance of bringing Mourinho here, but one thing I do know for sure is that if he did and he put that first trophy in the cabinet, every single poster on this Forum tonight who've been giving it large about what a twat Mourinho is will be singing 'Jose Mourinho, Jose Mourinho' with gusto!

This has nothing to do with City fans wanting Mourinho. It's to do with City fans failing to give the man the credit he deserves because of some pathetic desire to be proved right in some pathetic Internet argument about who the better manager is Mancini or Mourinho.

some of them just don't buy into all the hype. of course he's a superb manager, tonight's display was testament to his organizational skills. but their squad is probably stronger than barca, this was hardly a miracle.

all he's achieved tonight is to match rafa benitez's champions league record: one win, one final. and he's never been bankrolled like mourinho, inter's wage bill is astronomic, just as chelsea's was.

inter were hardly falling apart at the seams when he took over. if he wins, he joins ancelotti, sacchi, del bosque, hitzfeld, ferguson on two wins. do you rate ancelotti as highly as mou? if not, why?

of course some don't like the show-boating, i've nothing to say about that, it's a personal thing.

but openly begging for another manager to take over when we have three unbelievably important games to decide our future sticks in my throat, a bit. it's all opinion but it's the timing, and the attitude that if we snap our fingers he will come running doesn't help.

I think we'd only struggle to get Jose if Real Madrid came in for him, which they may well do the way things are going. I think Utd and Liverpool are non starters and I don't think he'll stay in Milan. Jose and City are a match made in heaven if you ask me. City and Jose can eclipse those fornicators from across the road for a generation. Open your minds.

Porto .................Won the Uefa Cup and Champions League and Domestic Title

Chelsea ..........First League Title for over 50 Years

Inter ...............First Champions League Final for 38 years , if they win it first time for 45 years ...

Theres a pattern emerging here .................

But how many times do you need to be told, we don't want winners here, we want a life of abject misery, whatever it may cost!

The guy is a tactical genius and those on here who think otherwise are deluding themselves if they think otherwise.

He is a winner, why should he have played into Barca's hands by trying to attack them? he already had a lead and when down to 10 men was left with little alternative.

Winners do what they have to to ensure they get a result and it isn't always pleasing on the eye, but when the trophies are in the cabinet who gives a flying f...

What worries me more is not whether we have Mourinho, but who gets him! If he went to the rags or Scouse for instance we we know we would have one hell of a fight whenever we played them. The guy has managed 3 teams since 2002, Porto, Chelsea and now Inter and hasn't lost a single game at home, now don't tell me that isn't impressive.

The guy is arrogant, manipulates the rules and stands up to referees and different FA's, he pisses all over the media - sounds like someone from up the road, who whilst we all hate the man - you have to admire his football managerial record.

Now this isn't a lets go and get Mourinho post, as I have said before I don't like chopping and changing and believe Mancini should be given a chance to build his own team first. He may have been negative in some games but again he has had to work with the players he had.

Like I said earlier to me it is more about if we don't get Mourinho are you going to be happy about him say being the manager of another Premier team?

Here here. Inter Milan with the players they have are more than capable of at least putting some sort of attack against Barca. Are people telling me Sneidjer, Cambiasso, Motta, Zanetti, Eto'o and Stankovic are in the class of Stoke? That they need to hoof the ball and could only manage 67 passes in a game which is an absolute pisstake. Dont care for it personally. Give me Barcelona attacking football everyday of the week. 2 Champions league trophies in 3 years is testament to the fact that you usually win as a result of playing well.

Jose did what he had to do end of. No problem with that, whether he had Sneider, Etoo or whoever.

He seems to be able to overcome more attack minded coaches. What is curious is that when he came up against an arguably more defensive coach than himself ie Rafael Benitez he lost every time in the big European games.

Benitez's record prior to the this season is every bit as impressive as Mourinho's. His success in Spain with Valencia surpassing Mourinho's achievements at Chelsea. And a European cup with Liverpool was quite an achievement given that they were the fifth best team in England at the time.

But I wouldn't want Rafa here.
