Best asking Charlton Heston as he was a bit nearer to the action than most others. How modern, if it was an Apple Watch or a Samsung watch then they were not invented in the 60s when Ben Hur was filmed.

And, James Cameron is left handed, however Leonardo is right handed so they reversed filmed it, so when you actually see the shot even though it's James Cameron drawing left handed it looks right handed, it's all in the details..In the 1997 blockbuster "Titanic" the sketch of Rose by Jack was actually drawn by director James Cameron as Leonardo DiCaprio cannot draw. And the close ups of "Jack" drawing the picture are James Cameron's hands
Recently rewatched that scene and it’s intense and very very loudThe 1995 action/thriller Heat was filmed entirely on location around Los Angeles. No soundstage or studio was ever used on the shoot.
The bank shootout was filmed in the Bunker Hill area of downtown LA over the course of several weekends(the crew couldn't film there during weekdays)
During that time the real LAPD kept receiving numerous phone calls from the public who believed an actual firefight was happening as the gunfire sounded so realistic.
Val Kilmer became temporary deaf in one ear for a few days as the gunfire was so loud. Many actors had to wear ear defenders filming that scene
