Moving Away Fans / SSL3 /2 All City Fans.

United boys abandoned the Stretford End in the mid 70s for the Scoreboard Paddock later they located to K stand, to bait away fans. All I have heard lately is how quiet OT is for most games. Lots of Liverpool boys moved into the Anfield Rd end pre and post segregation. At Elland Rd the Gelldard End was abandoned in favour of the south stand. The common denominator in all cases was the wish to confront away fans. Myself I always think a packed loud away end makes for a great atmosphere in the home stands. We had a number of boys who left the Kippax in the early 80s for the Platt Lane, they caused so much havoc that GMP insisted it be made an away stand only. For many footy will always be about confrontation. In short " boys will be boys".
even between stands........you're not famous anymore, give us a song, we are the kippax etc etc

Love a bit of tribalism me.

When we moved from Maine Road they shifted the away fans to the south stand.....every fucker moved to the south stand and kippax corner.

.
..and in my proposal City fans would 180 degree surround away fans and be above them.

Couldnt be much closer if you were sat with them !!

SSL3/2* ....All City

NSL1/2....All City

Two ends are better than one !!

* plus 75% of SSL1

IMO City fans in SSL3 will make more noise with the away fans still located there than not. Another thing is for cup games with 1500 away fans in SSL3, the 3,000 they used to get in SSL1 and SSL2 then just need to find another 1500 by going into corner of ES/SSL1 and ES/SSL2 to make up 6,000. If this was allowed, it means City fans wouldn't have to give up SSL3, which when the dust settles I think will still be the noisiest part of the ground, for cup ties.

With your proposal, where are 6,000 away fans going for cup ties?

You still haven’t addressed the fact that the 3000 away fans we MUST accommodate can’t fit in the blocks you’ve proposed ( your suggestion that we simply ignore the Premier League rules is comical).
I know it’s fashionable in political circles to promote bad ideas with false data but Blue Moon should be above that!

Most of the loudest/home ends aren’t near the away fans though. Most clubs also have two standing ends either side of the ground.

We could keep the south stand and also have a home end in the north stand. We have the numbers and the demand is there for more standing sections

There's a 50 year culture at City of the most vocal fans going near to the away fans which endured through away fans being moved stands at Maine Road and City moving ground. That's one main reason why the new North Stand is destined to fail because City would have to really push it as an atmospheric stand with cheap seats and it being mainly or entirely safe standing to overcome this tradition

Anfield and Villa Park developed their own culture where their main standing area was celebrated, to the extent where some claim the Villa song 'Holte Enders in the Sky' is a reference to when the Holte End was the highest standing terrace in the country.

And l'm not an expert on the sty but weren't k stand and united road more vocal than the stretford end?
I’m not going to argue your culture point, even though I know what you mean, but I don’t agree with it.

If the North stand does fail, it’s because its primary purpose is to drive match day revenue over creating an atmosphere. 3000 safe standing seats at the back of NSL2 might work? We won’t know until NSL2 is operational.

If you put a few hundred or a few thousand like minded singers together at the Etihad, they will still sing, support the team, and create an atmosphere. They don’t have to be located next to the away fans. I don’t think being next to the away fans dictates the atmosphere. It doesn’t at other grounds, so why should it at the Etihad?

You clearly have'nt read the updated posts.

Futhermore, ignoring PL rules hasnt been suggested.

Pray, tell the thread what you know about political circles, and which ones you move in to understand such things ??

Finally BMF is actively moderated, let them decide what is above or beneath them eh.

You'll appreciate more than most apparently, that it'll be more 'politically correct', that way.

TIA.

Regretably,where theyve normally been.

However, under 'Two ends are better than one', City will still have the 8000 + seater exclusive NS1/2 singing home end which we dot have now !!

Maybe I'm a minority but I don’t trust politicians of any persuasion and see many examples of them lying to support their arguments. You won’t draw me into any partisan comment in support of any of them.

You frequently suggested we give away fans less than their 3000/5% entitlement. We can’t, it’s the rules.

I have followed the thread meticulously and noted your vague amendment to “leave some away fans in ESL2” despite you previously claiming the plan would lead to expanded hospitality in the same location ( Legends)

So for the avoidance of doubt why don’t you list all the sections that would be occupied by away fans (and their capacities, (or I can add that up for you if you prefer) then people can make a fair assessment of the pros and cons of your plan. Would be of particular interest to the 1000s of Blues who currently sit there.

Thanks for your held Fish, over to you and dont forget that the club /Licencing Authority can excercise flexibility to reduce allocations,as they have on several occasions in the past.

Anyhowoop.....Two ends are certainly better than one eh ??

You have a great seat there in ESL3 (half way line) but you're not exactly a cauldron of noise up there. Do you intend to be a part of your two ends suggestion or just sit there in the middle of ESL3 in a fabulous seat watching your two ends?

We all know by now the club don't give two fucks about long term loyalty or our craving of old style atmospheres. Even “safe standing” was forced on them by fans due to non-stop persistent standing since before we got to the Etihad. (North stand Maine Road and AA lower of the new kippax).

In SSlevel 3 they only made the away section safe standing because away fans stand all game. Most of SSL3 sit down all game apart from a small section immediately next to the away fans. That should tell you all something. Being next to away fans creates singing and noise.

Filming City fans by police, No player visits to OSC's, Cheesefests, Free Scottish kids tickets to CL games, phone torches, mental PA systems, overpriced everything and a fuck you if you don't like it attitude. Away fans in home areas. The shit transport attitude is also a good example of none of them being arsed how the plebs get there.

It's the profit margins and bottom line only.

On the other hand plenty of City fans, perhaps the majority, just watch the game and will never truly constantly sing etc

Some see the singing areas as another part of the match entertainment to watch but not join in and then moan about the atmosphere and fuck off with ten minutes to go.

Moving fans away from their seats will only piss many people off and two loud noisy ends will never ever happen. Not with the current ticket policies and other stuff mentioned by most match going fans who want a better support, atmosphere or noise.

People watching on telly haven’t a clue what’s actually going on at the club or what attending matches is like.
