Moving Away Fans / SSL3 /2 All City Fans.

Although 115 is next to the away fans you can't see them like we can in 109/110/111. And because we can see them we have banter with them. Yesterday we sang "you're just a shit Danny Dyer". Followed by "you're just a fat Danny Dyer", and "You're just a bald Danny Dyer to a bemused West Ham fan.

Many sections in the stadium would have barely heard us or not heard us at all but being next to the away fans generates atmosphere, and unlike @Gone for a Burton wanting away fans where we are I disagree. Kippax corner is often the loudest part of the stadium and that's largely due to being next to the away fans.
I wouldn't say it's the loudest part of the Etihad. It's not louder than SSL1 when that gets going, and in comparison.

As you say

I used to stand in 110, so I know about the banter. 111, 110 and 109 over look the away fans at an angle, so there is always plenty of eye contact and verbals between both sets of fans. Lol! Whilst SSL1 is side on to the away fans, so that eye contact and interaction between the 2 sets of fans isn't there as much.

111, 110 and 109 isn't as vocal as it used to be. But it is improving again. It always turns up for the big matches. There isn't much singing and support from there for the lesser matches. 111, 110 and 109 is more if a reactionary singing section to the away fans, rather than constant and out and out singing and support. That isn't a pop at the fans in those blocks. I absolutely loved my time in 110. And I miss it like hell when it was like it was against West Ham on Saturday. :-)

The 'Kippax Corner' is very quiet, it was initially noisy but now I often just hear SS L1 & L3 from where I sit.

If you wanna generate atmosphere then sticking away fans out of the way will not help

Completely agree. Just have to look at Sunderland. When away fans at the SOL were lower tier behind the goal, the home corner next to them was very loud and indeed this is evidenced for posterity from 13 May 2012.

However since they moved the away fans to upper tier at the opposite end with home fans nowhere near them, it always struck me that the SOL was much more subdued with home and away fans unable to hear one another and consequently no chants between the rival supporters.

I think the presence of away fans in SSL3 means City fans are louder there than if there were no visiting supporters to chant against; indeed I recall an operation one end for some cup game, when away fans were moved, being promoted on here for SSL1 and it fell completely flat.

its very quiet compared to when it was intially set out as the singing section.
Blame the club.............years ago there wasn't a half and half scarf to be seen or people filming away team etc.

The whole place is definitely being diluted and sanitised.

Kippax corner can't be beaten for having a laugh still.

I agree. The corner section used to be great. I was in 109 and I think it was against Juventus years ago, where it was just non stop singing. It was like that for most games. Even the concourse on derby day used to great - that’s died down now.

When the south stand expanded, the corner seemed to get worse noise wise in my opinion.

I think quite a few people left that section who were regular singers as well. Ss3 is where it’s at now noise wise.

There are no away fans next to the KOP, and that makes loads of noise, which gets the rest of Anfield going. The same with the Stratford End. You don't need away fans next to you to make noise and to support the team. What you need is enough singers together in 1 tier or 1 block.

As a rule from what I've read on here, only a small block of fans who stand at the back of SSL3 next to the away end sing, whilst the rest of SSL3 sits and watches the match.

It difficult to hear either KC or SSL1 due to their location and lack of acoustics.

If SSL3/2 + 75% of SSL1 were all City fans, they'd be ABOVE away fans on two sides, and SURROUND them on two sides.

In military strategy, that is literally a position to 'Die For'

If 'banter' is an alternative to 'intimidate' my proposal wins, wins & wins again.

Call me old fashioned if you like but, i do fail, in the face of irrefutable fact, to understand why posters fail to understand the logic.

'When youth departs, may wisdom prevail' !!

It's not very quiet at all. Where do you sit, Coop arena? ; )
He means youre pissing,i singing in the wind cos the rest of the ground cant hear a peep.

NOW......if you were altogethe in the SSL3, that might be a very differnt story.

Join the crusade BMR & bring your singers with you fame and glory may await !!
