What is your budget?

Would like to keep to not much more than 500,000 for a 4-bed detached.

Somewhere in the Cotswolds would be my pick if I had that money. Grimsby is a nice place aswell.

Grimsby? Bloody hell much obviously has changed if Grimsby is now regarded as a nice place.

Grimsby is the St Tropez of the UK.

It has the climate, the yachts, the money, the wine and you should see the women,

I must admit that Skipton, Harrogate and Malvern seem to be the areas that appeal the most. Not sure about schooling options there but they seem to tick most of the other boxes. Norfolk and Lincolnshire could also be options.

have a look at glossop pal semi rural near to city good schools train links close to city near two cities I.e Manchester and sheffield .I moved near there from Stockport and its the best thing I ever did the only problem is traffic in the rush hour.

What's wrong with Manchester? I honestly think its the best city to live in in the uk.

That is where i was brought up and it was great.
Valley with a river, farm is close as well as bramhall park.

Nice area and houses and 10 minute drive one way you have lyme park and 10 the other you have Manchester.

I'm not really looking to live in a city. I prefer village life but within 10-20 miles of a city.

Pulling your leg mate, I have the pleasure of living there and I can confirm its the shittest town in the world. There is some nice places in Lincolnshire though. Louth ticks most your boxes but hasn't got a big city close by. Lincoln is about 40 miles away.

Marple Bridge
20 mins in the train to Manchester and very countrified village.
3 good pubs with good food
Restaurants
Very good primary school

So another 2 ticks for the mighty 'boro there then. And for half a mill you could get an amazing property.
