Mr Bates vs the Post Office

Not a cat in hells chance. The Met top cop, Rowley has said a police investigation will not be concluded until 2026. Bollocks. The biggest cover up in this country started 15 years ago and is still going on. The cops started investigating in 2020. 6 years ! Fuck off.
I agree that plod could have investigated immediately after the 2019 court findings but I now suspect Rowley is being driven by the inquiry timescales (but could be wrong).

I genuinely feel the public will not allow Gov or the Met to not see prosecutions and jail for those who covered up this whole mess

If the Government had not wanted peace with the IRA, the Birmingham 6 and the Guildford 4 would still be in prison.
When we launch an invasion of Yemen to clear Houthi Terrorists out watch the public move away from this.
20 odd years this scandal has been going on and not one fuck was given. Look at the contaminated blood scandal, that was earlier than this any resolution? Is there fuck

Saw the TV series and was amazed and obviously appalled at the treatment of the Postmasters (and subsequently, their staff).
But, who else can investigate this if not "the establishment" ?
I'm not trying to be clever, but who could or should be grilling the previous Post Office senior employees and Fujitsu bigwigs ?
You're not trying to be clever, and you're correct. A public inquiry and grilling by MP's is the only way

Well, let’s hope they break the usual mould where the establishment looks after its own. “Lessons will be learned, now fcuk off while it blows over and becomes yesterdays news“. Or maybe someone moves on with a pay-off and pension enhancement to lubricate the way.

I can’t recall a senior official being prosecuted in any of the various scandals of the past. The one ray of hope this time is the unprecedented level of public attention and rage.

Very interesting Full Disclosure podcast by James O’Brian with Nick Wallis. He’s the BBC presenter who’s been covering the story since 2010, Panorama etc.

Well worth a listen.

I’m struggling to think of a similar high profile case in my life and, at 44, I can’t.

Fujitsu could instigate world peace yet still be tainted.

We just watched this yesterday/last night. Is there any other series/documentaries on it?
Lots.
There are 3 Panorama specials (all on BBC IPlayer) 2015, 2020 and 2022.
Nick Wallis has done a podcast.

Start with those and if you want more let me know.

Jason Beer KC is superb. This is particularly good, a little humour in a dark story "Pewter?".
