To be honest if I go to the chippy I ask for a chip butty, the fact that it arrives on a teacake or oven bottomed muffin is irrelevant both are extremely good bread products. Barms are for the masses especially scousers that is why there are more entries, don't mean they are right though because they clearly aren't.

WTF, the Muffin brigade will never give in neither will the teacakes. An oven bottomed muffin and a teacake are both larger than a chocolate chip muffin or a windberry muffin. Just shows how versatile a muffin is. Likewise a teacake can be plain or with currants or sultanas. The Barm is a one dimensional low esteem bap with flour on it which some delluded people think is the real deal. You know it makes sense to call it a muffin or a teacake.

Technicality, in a barm war there are bound to be casaualties, may be a bit of blue on blue. Ruthless, but clearly a winner as demonstrated at Stalingrad.

I suspect this thread may last longer than the middle yeast conflict.
