Muffin or Barm

Do you know the barm man the barm man?

No because the song doesn't exist

The muffin man on the other hand lives on dury lane

They are two different things.

The thread should be retitled Muffin AND Barm, then locked.

Technically not a barm cake is made using the tradutional muffin recipe but made using barm yeast, what a chippy of cafe normally serves your filling in will be muffins essentially, so a barm is a muffin in reality.

Thick layer of Lurpak and a touch, not too much, Colman's English.

Oh, God no! Mustard is one of those things that I file alongside curry. My body is a temple of the lord and mustard will ne'er taint it! Various foot outlets have duped me in the past when I have ordered a hand-crafted ham sandwich and I am left thinking "You bastards! Yer poisoning me'!

Just seen this on FB

Always been a chip muffin and a bacon barm. Always has been and always will be.
That is because a muffin and a barm are different things. Always have been and always will be. People on this thread seem to call barms 'muffins' and muffins 'barms'. If it is flat then it is a muffin. If it is rounded then it is a barm. Anyone who says otherwise needs to be slapped on a train.
