Muffin or Barm

That’s because this is a muffin

They don’t even enter the debate of what you call barmcakes, barms, buns, rolls etc.
Its only about 20 years ago (30 at most) that a blueberry muffin would have been known as a blueberry bun in this country. But American fast food companies (especially McD's) have brainwashed some of us through advertising to call a fuckin' bun a muffin! A bun is a bun whether it contains blueberries currants or raisins!

English muffins have been eaten for at least 4 centuries well before any American **** decided to lob a few blueberries in a bun and call it a muffin.

This guy muffins. Am I right?

My estimation is that below my line on the map, we say “barm” or “barmcake”; and above the line, they say “muffin”.

I got 3 chips barms in Mr Mac’s Stadium Chippy before the Newcastle match and have to say they were absolutely shite.

Scabby, overcooked chips and the woman serving me had clearly lost her passion for life. She was so rude.

We were stung in the Maine Road Chippy after the Real Madrid match price wise but the quality was so much better.

Fancy buying off a clearly deranged shopkeeper who had lost her marbles, I'd have asked what the hells a chip barm even spell check know in Lancashire we eat our chips on Muffins.

Judging by your grammar, education isn't top of the priority list in deepest, darkest Lancashire. Here in Manchester, we know the language, and we know it's a barm.
