Or to save people the trouble.

Barm cake is type of bread roll, similar to an English muffin, with flour on top. It had a characteristically strong flavour that comes from the traditional barm leaven made from a natural leaven with the addition of hops. However, the Barm Cake is more likely made from commercial yeast these days.[citation needed]

The original barm cake is found in areas of North West England. In wider northern England, a similar bread roll would be known instead as a "breadbun", "breadcake", "bap" or even (in the enlarged form of Tyneside) a "stotty".

Chips are the most popular filling, sold in most fish and chip shops in the north west of England often called simply a 'chip barm'

Mmmm just fancy a chip barm on my way to watch the Youth team tonight!

And your point is exactly? people eat muffins with anything not just chips. Go back to work you Barmpots.

That is left to the individual concerned to put whatever they like in them. You can taost them and put jam on them or put bacon and eggs, both in the picture. It doesn't take a genius to work out that because they are speciality bread products chips would be a perfect as well. Interesting that Wikipedia also mentions this particular bakery. The argument you present doesn't hold up under scrutiny you have lost, it is a chip mffin but you just refuse to accept it.
