MUSIC: METAL

The only metal I ever got into wholeheartedly is Faith No More. 95% of Metal bands seem so terribly one dimensional imo and FNM had such a huge array of musical styles thrown into the mix that they were always interesting, never took themselves seriously and were always up for a laugh. On top of that you have Mike Patton, who imo has the greatest rock voice and front man ever.

Pope, check out Tomahawk. One of Mike's post FNM projects with Stanier from Helmet and Duane Dennison from Jesus Lizard. Amazing band.

I was there when they filmed this as I was working with Mike at the time. Top guy and super super talented.
 
I saw Pantera at The Apollo in 94 when they were touring Far Beyond Driven. Machine Head are great, Soungarden, FNM, RATM, Rollins Band, all still have worthy places in my music collection.
