Musical Guilty Pleasures

Double like for Hanson. Every album I buy the first thing I look for is the 3 minute pop single. I’m an absolute sucker for the radio friendly, major chord type songs and mm bob is one of the best. Is it because I grew up in the late 60’s and early 70’s with the radio on?

Check out this slice of Powerpop from Tinted Windows. Taylor Hansen singing, James Iha from Smashing Pumpkins on guitar, Adam Schlesinger (R.I.P.) from Fountains of Wayne on bass, and yes, Mr Bun E, Carlos from the greatest band in my world on drums.
The whole self titled album is excellent.

Been YouTubing the FOW’s, already had the Welcome Interstate managers album after hearing Radiation Vibe on Bob Harris of all places. Diving into Alt. Country as it was called years ago I also somehow bought James Iha’s album Let it come down. Didn’t know the full story of the FOW’s or the connection to “That thing you do” so the Tinted Windows recommendation was spot on. Added to my Fathers Day wish list, so cheers.
