Musicals

Les Mis, saw it a few times but would love to check it out in the West End one day. Love musicals and I thank my father for exposing us to theatre, opera, ballet & symphonic performances from a young age - the arts can be wonderful

Tonight
At a Cineworld near you
Porgy and Bess broadcast live from the NY Met

Wife's Birthday next week so we're off to the Pool for a weekend of fun mirth and merriment. The highlight will be a an evening at the Grand to see a Musical. Nothing encapsulates more than a visit to the theatre, so full of charm, joy de vivre, and panache.

This Musical is all about Dolly Parton. Dolly Parton is the most successful female country singer of all time and has won 11 Grammy Awards and received 54 Gramma nominations. As a country music artist, Dollys achieved more number one hits than any other female icon.

In this feel-good story, a diehard fan seeks comfort in hard times. He unexpectedly finds reassurance in a fantasy version of the country music queen. Through wit, humour, and music, Dolly then teaches some heartwarming lessons about love and life. The show is bursting with hits from start to finish. You will recognise iconic tracks including, "Jolene", "9 to 5", and "Islands in the Stream". "I Will Always Love You", and of course "Here You Come Again"

"Here You Come Again" was originally written by two–time Emmy award winner, Bruce Vilanch. Director Gabriel Barre and Tricia Paoluccio, who plays Dolly, also collaborated alongside. It has now been adapted by acclaimed English playwright, Jonathan Harvey (''Coronation Street').

Does she get her tits out at all? ( Dolly, not the wife)

The old musicals are fantastic.
Talented stars who could act, dance AND sing; Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, Donald OConnor, Frank Sinatra etc etc
Even James Cagney could dance quite well, started in vaudeville.
