where an alien race invades earth. they are a slow evolving race, they send probes to earth when we were all on horse back with swords. they made the assumption that as they were slow evolving we would be too and expected to just be fighing people with swords. They arrived at the height of the 2nd world war. there tech is about 50/100 years ahead of what we have now.
