Horizon - Dancing in the dark, The end of physics ?

Scientists genuinely don't know what most of our universe is made of. The atoms we're made from only make up four per cent. The rest is dark matter and dark energy (for 'dark', read 'don't know'). The Large Hadron Collider at CERN has been upgraded. When it's switched on in March 2015, its collisions will have twice the energy they did before. The hope is that scientists will discover the identity of dark matter in the debris.

The stakes are high - because if dark matter fails to show itself, it might mean that physics itself needs a rethink.

(i will upload it to a video host for non uk users and edit it into this post)

Ssshhh, don't say that mate;)

Watched a great documentary last week on Sky arts - Banks`y in NYC.. Sorry no link but its defo worth hunting down

Cant remember if it was on this thread that I learned about it or elsewhere, but ESPN have done some great documentaries as part of a series called 30 for 30. My M8 box found 2 series of it. Ive watched a few crackers on it.

Playing For The Mob - the story of Henry Hill and the Goodfellas mobsters and the betting scam they had with the Boston College basketball team. Hill himself is interviewed in it, as other mobsters involved are. All of the players involved are on it too and its fascinating to watch their individual accounts of it. Have a look and make your mind up about Jim Sweeney, seems even the prosecutors couldnt be sure if he was telling the truth at the time.

Slaying the Badger - another great watch about Greg LeMonde and the tour de france, and his relationship with teammate Bernard Hinault who was basically a ruthless lying bastard to him. An interesting little sidenote to this at the end is the emergence of Lance Armstrong towards the ends of LeMonds career. The cheeky arrogant bastard phoned LeMond up and asked if he could rent his house in France now that he was finished - showing that he knew he was about to beat everyone the cheating bastard.

No Mas - the story behind Roberto Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard which culminates with the two of them meeting up at the end.

A good one on Ben Johnson and Carl Lewis and others in the 88 Olympics which I will watch tonight

These are really good for anyone interested in how guns and artillery work

I also enjoy these Al Jazeera head to heads hosted by Mehdi Hassan

The life and deaths of Robert durst. It's a 6 part documentary but a very good watch

If youve seen the film Foxcatcher you will know all about it, but I hadnt seen the film first and knew nothing about it. There is a brand new documentary on the ESPN 30 for 30 series called Prince of Pennsylvania about the murder of the wrestler by John Du Pont and the programme he set up for training. Its the real actual people in the doco, fascinating and very moving

Watched the Nina Simone documentary, What Happened, Miss Simone? I am a huge fan but didn't know tons about her late life. Sad stuff.

Just watched "I'll Be Me" the story of Glen Campbell going out on his last tour as he was diagnosed with Alziemers, its pretty amazing to watch him play guitar, Well worth watching, great songs. Pretty sad to see him go downhill,
