I was on holiday in Zante when my mate rang me to tell me about MVF death, cried like a baby in the bar, our lass didnt know what to do with me. Got my city shirt out the bar owner got MVF RIP printed on it and put it up on the wall everyone left messages on the shirt (even rags) still in the bar now

Always sad when a top athlete like him dies.

Top player, great attitude and by all accounts a first class gent.

The outpouring of grief from the football community at the time was a testimony to the man.
