My first Christmas dinner as a Vegetarian. I don't think I've thought this through.

Don't forget the tatties. You can't have one without the other.
Tried vegetarian haggis the other week that would be accompanied by both. Tragically it tasted fuck all like haggis. I've never tasted congealed gruel, but I think this is as close as it gets.

Didn't know there was a veggie version of haggis, that's why I didn't include it.

Would deep fried Mars bars be "veggie friendly"?

;-)

Wow. There is a half way house though mate. Just eat stuff you are confident you know the provenance of - I have done that for years. My Christmas day Turkey from Gartmorn Farm near Alloa was eyewateringly expensive but I am confident that the ugly birds had a fantastic life frolicking in their woodland and pastures, having as close as a natural life as it is possible to have and were slaughtered humanely. Likewise all the meat, poultry, game and fish I buy and eat.

If you are determined, you need to keep off the fish then as if they are wild they will be hauled out the ocean and left to suffocate slowly. If farmed, well its too close to lunch to go into gory detail...

Good luck whatever you choose but my view is that life is too short to deny yourself one of the great natural pleasures.
I hear you. It's a head thing. I totally agree with how fish meet their end but right now it's too much. Having said all that I do feel better. It was me being a fucking hypocrite that ground me down.

No because milk is used. My fried Mars Bar eating is also a thing of memories.

I love animals and hate how they are treated. I have felt this way for years but did fuck all about it. Eventually I just decided to do it. I feel happier in my head. My stomach and taste buds though? They fucking hate me. :)

And it's actually a criminal act going teetotal in Scotland. So that's a non starter.
You're coming across as a Scottish version of Neil from the young ones MP. In 12 months time you'll be telling us you're supping mint tea in hemp plimsolls, ya big veggie tart; )

Line the bottom of a foil roasting tray with cranberry sauce (homemade, or shop bought).

Grate 2 large courgette's (could also use carrot, or courgette and carrot) into a large mixing bowl,
Add 250g of sage and onion stuffing mix,
Chuck 500g in a bag of frozen soya mince,
Add a couple of tbs of instant veg gravy mix,
Add 150g of strong grated vegetarian cheddar
whisk 2 large eggs and add to the mix

Spoon the mixture into the tin and press down
Cover tightly with foil

Bake in oven at 180 deg for 30-35 minutes (test with a skewer - it should come out clean) and then remove the foil and cook for another 10-15 minutes (you can also add more grated cheese to the top at this point, and finish off under the grill).
