use this! semi cheating, mind... it's not a data editor, so more a useful tool than a proper cheat...
your scouting network is only as good as it's knowledge level- this has 100% knowledge and even produces a scout report in the same format as FM.
for those that havent seen it, this is how to use it-
download/ unpack/ put folder somewhere convenient
in the game shortlist screen, click on 'shortlist' at the bottom, click save, give it a name
open genie scout
open a saved game, it'll upload the full game database
click on the button with a green up arrow, find your saved shortlist
go to 'my shortlist' tab, double click any player to view the genie scout report
search players by name, nationality, club, or just use the 'ability' fields to search for the best players in the world and, the youngsters with the most potential, right click and click on 'add player' to add them to your shortlist. repeat as neccesary
click on the file with a disk on when you have a load of good players on your shortlist
go back to the game shortlist screen, click on 'shortlist' at the bottom, then 'import...'
ta da!
get a 'real' scout to do a report, to tell you if
a) they're likely to fit in with the other players in your squad (most city players in the game are 'determined' or 'very determined' personalities, ive been warned off one or two signings)
b) if their club is at all interested in selling , and if the player may have any inclination to come
as an example, look up Vincenzo Fiorillo. young italian GK, 19, at Sampdoria. Current rating is 116 out of 200, potential rating is 199! value in the game for £1m.
