My FM09 Team (09-10 2nd season)

Here is proof of my brilliant management. I may apply for the city job if hughes gets the boot

by the way shady. Its not a dodgy copy mine, so I wont be needing the crack.

Win over the rag empire in FA cup (beat them 2-0 at home in the league and drew 2-2 at old scaffold (won them the fecking title)

You will need to click the images, because it wont let me put them up on here because they are too big

Sign the player I have got in midfield called Carioca. Cost me £3m from Cruzerio (I think), he had a release clause in the contract

go to your game folder found here: -

C:\Users\your username\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009 section

i created the following folders: -

within graphics folder (if there isn't a graphics folder....create one) create seperate folders called "backgrounds", "kits", "logos" & "players"

drop your backgrounds into backgrounds folder

drop your kits into kit folder

drop your team logos/club badges into logos

drop your player face packs into players

now start your game and go to options...then preferences....on the left hand side look for "display & sound" and click

now within the top section (window settings)...make sure "use skin cahe" is unticked & "always reload skin on confirm" is ticked

now look in the middle section (display settings)....make sure "show badges/logos" is ticked and make sure "show backgrounds" is ticked

confirm and away you go :)

Do any of you change the sliders dramatically? I read the full 50 page tactical guide from wwfan on the SIGAMES forums and still i tend to struggle despite keeping the sliders within range for all players for two tactics i chose. Specifically have a problem with conceeding goals. A notch out and it looks like it can cost you 2 points on this game!

yeah i use "rule of one" and i've been a fan of wwfan for years. his better stuff is on the FM Britain site.. their tactical forum is the best FM tactical resource i've seen, bar none.

i've almost finished my first season, and i played all the way until january with Hughes' current squad.

i signed a lot of players as soon as the summer window closed. i didn't get sentimental, didn't keep too many players. shockingly, someone paid money for Vass.

currently in 2nd, with 4 to go. sadly, no chance of catching rags but i have a young, talented team and will nail them to the wall next year. only beat 'em one for three though. Arse may catch us, they're only a point behind, but i can't see me sinking below third. playing UEFA semi against P$V next match.

will post my squad after i finish my work, in about an hour...

use this! semi cheating, mind... it's not a data editor, so more a useful tool than a proper cheat...
.

ffs

if that's semi-cheating, how far would one have to go to actually cheat? change Vass and Benjani into world class players? [/eyeroll]

I thought it something of a grey area, inbetween- if i didnt have to go out and work for a living, perhaps i'd have a very much broader knowledge of european and international football and players in general? So if the purpose of the game is management simulation, you could add value to that with that tool, I would say :)

Converting Vass and Benjani into world class players would indeed be 'proper' cheating :P though i dare you to deny the novelty in that particular idea ;)

It still falls upon oneself to organise and motivate your virtual players, and issue them with match-winning tactics.

Oh, and cheers Shady! I'll give it a go :)

IMO the scouts in the game do an adequate job, you shouldn't need additional software to scout on your behalf. that's what i use and i, too, work for a living (maybe my season goes slower, though).

also, in real life the best scout in the world wouldn't be able to tell you with 100 percent accuracy how likely a player is to be good. if anything, the scouts in-game are TOO good at spotting potential, in my opinion. still, play the way you want, its' basically you against the computer so i don't think 'cheating' means much morally, it's just a question of how realistic (or unrealistic ) a game you want and can enjoy.

that said, i think if you made Vass world class it'd probably melt your motherboard. not worth the risk.

my FM 9 squad as of 2 May 2009

my squad:

----------------------Joe Hart -------------------------

Darijo Srna---Micah Richards---Cristian Zapata---Miguel Veloso

------------------Anatoliy Timoschuk---------------------

------------Joao Moutinho---Marek Hamisik----------------

SWP-------------------------------------Andres Guardado

-----------------------Robinho-------------------------

s1: Sergio Asenjo GK
s2: Pablo Zabaleta DR etc
s3: Mamadou Sakho DLC
s4: Kompany DC, DM
s5: Lassana Diarra DM (fuck you, Real)
s6: Giovanni dos Santos AMR
s7: Carlos Vela FC

i kept Johnson and Jo, but will sell Jo. got a gobs of cash for Elano and Dunney.

that's a typical lineup, but i have signed a LOT of players, mostly young ones with lots of potential. in about four seasons my squad will be invincible. the trick to signing a lot of players is to get 'em on payments spread over 24 months. you still have to pay for 'em, though, so don't get carried away.

As it happens, I signed a scout from Real Madrid called Alonso something, he wanted something like £20k a week, but he got it. His stats were excellent and his recommendations have been pretty spot on. Hes picked out Hamsik, Srna, and two Brazilian superkids thus far and all but the DM superkid are doing the business for me.

Just started picking up some regens in the youth system, a couple of them are amazing!

yep regens are amazing in FM9. there are some world beaters coming out (i signed several French regens in my first year, i guess those'd be called newgens). set a record by playing a 15 year old in a first team match. he deserved it too. the regens' stats are not only good but the attributes tend to be distributed well for their position.

in 3 game years i'll have 11 homegrown starters and sell 'binho... because he's not good enough to start!

i always sign as many scouts as i can, and put more emphasis on their spotting potential ability than current ability. it pays off. i always put a little bit of extra work in, too, and scout every player in the prem, la liga and serie a (including reserves and u18s).
