Done. I don't have a problem with people having the odd bet down the bookies, but the industry has got out of control, and you see younger and younger people getting into it. When I was younger, it was something done mainly by middle-aged or old men. Now they've well and truly got the next generation hooked.

Fuck me mate that's awful. I know people that have spunked thousands on it, the government love it, because it's seen as a bit of fun, a laugh. They can get away with taxing the fuck out of it, with seemingly no downsides.
They dont, and wont show the dark side. It wont change, which is why the war on free bets is a clever move. No one can argue this isn't a good thing to ban free bets, not even pro gamblers, not once a year flutterers, not even none gamblers or actively anti gamblers. Everyone agrees free bets are bad, because we all know what it can lead to, not least of all the brave lady op.
We will never ban gambling, but we should get rid of this free bet bollocks asap.

Broke my heat watching your video. My best friend Conrad developed an addiction to gambling..... the shame impacted and it broke him. Took his own life and left his wife and three beautiful children. I think about him and miss him every single day. Thank you for having the strength and resilience to do this at such a difficult time. Stay strong. Signed and circulated. X

This is a great petition and you are so brave for raising this.
It will also be a real eye opener to those who think this takes years to have an effect.

I had an account over 15 years ago and placed bets each weekend on accumulators. Then it was pens and yellow cards. Then the number of corners in a game...
My wife would wonder why I was screaming at the TV when the linesman gave a goal kick instead of corner in a game between two teams I had no affiliation to.
Fortunately I walked away and stopped betting as I could see the route I was going down.
The company phoned me (this was around 2010/11 time) asking why I hadn't had a bet for a while? I told them what started out as couple of quid on an accumulator had become about a tenner or so a weekend and losing was really affecting my mood.

I told them, politely, the call wasn't helpful and I never got another call fortunately.

Take care and what you are doing will definitely save others.
