My prediction after Fulham ran them close...

For all their bravado about "done it all before, the nerves will get to City blah blah
blah" the scum looked decidedly nervy themselves last night,so it looks like it is
getting to them ...lets just keep the pressure on the lucky cnuts

I love the fact that United, after winning a game despite playing poorly, and being gifted 2 points by a shocking refereeing decision, are suddenly according to some going to drop points in a few games this season. If last night proved anything it's that it doesn't matter how well United play they'll still, either by their own means or with assistance from the officials, find a way to win. If anything last night just provided me with more proof that City will need to beat Arsenal, and win all their other games, to have a shot at the title.

I can really see Swansea cutting the rags to pieces, and if Scholes starts that game he definitely won't be finishing it because he'll chop someone down after seeing the ball passed around him for 10minutes.

Blackburn aren't going to be a walkover, neither are Wigan. It's then down to how badly O'Neil wants to upset the party on the last day.

Last night gave me a lot of confidence that they're going to drop points somewhere. Given that a team who've only scored 8 away goals all season could've gotten at them a better team will have a field day.

Evans is only ever a cm away from an own goal or some other calamitous venture, Smalling isn't all that you can see that bacon face was crapping himself last night, pulling off Rooney.

Whatever happns it's going to be exciting and I for one am somewhat comforted to know that City are still City - we never do anything easy!

I reckon the rags will have a 3 point lead going into the last 2 games and what an amazing coincidence we travel to Newcastle and they have Sunderland.
Shades of 1968 when the better team by a mile deservedly won it.
I wouldn't hold my breath expecting a team with a potential back four of Barsdley, O'Shea, Baked Bean Head and Richardson doing City any favours on the last day. They will throw it in

We need our away form to improve fast before worying about them dropping points, id take being 3 points behind goin into the derby!

This is about it Ryan! Some think that a team that has won 2 out of 9 away, scoring 4 goals and lost at Swansea, Everton and Sunderland are going to suddenly win 4 out of 4 away.

2 weeks ago we were talking about being able to lose at Arsenal, then we lost at Swansea, a week ago we were saying a draw at Arsenal might be enough, then we drew at Stoke......Arsenal is now a must win yet realistically we go into that game as underdogs. Wenger will definately want to beat us having nicked Clichy and Nasri off them and they are flying. My fear is that our midfield is too pedestrian for their pace.

Most realists know that 4/4 isnt going to happen so we therefore have to rely on the rags dropping points

I just hope that our players don't have the mentality of a huge number of our supporters. Yes, the Rags are now favourites because they are ahead and have the easier run-in, on paper. They also seem to get away with it in ways that we do not. If you want to be all doom and gloom about it, Crouch having the time to score a wonder goal because he had shoved his marker to the ground and the Rags apparently - I didn't watch the Scum - escaping a last minute penalty and a sending off for their best midfield player of the moment would have you thinking it's all going against us. For balance one might point to the fact that City could easily have conceded a penalty at Stoke; the difference being that had Stoke scored, City would have had plenty of time to come back and that Barry's foul didn't actually impede Stoke's move. But City were always going to have to win this the hard way and win it for themselves without relying on other teams or referees for favours. These things should be used by Mancini and the players to drive themselves to new heights, they must have the attitude that if Manure are to win the title, they will have to set some records to do so.

All City can do for now is prepare well for Sunderland and go out there and take top spot back for however long it lasts. One game at a time.

Never surrender.

It's all a bit ridiculous that we even find ourselves in this position , we really ought to have had this title won weeks ago ...... and we would have done if we'd got our arses into gear away from home !

As it is things are falling for the rags , players coming back from injury , no Fulham penalty last night , and plenty of rag penalties of late ....... whilst we stutter along playin' only half a game , half the time !

We could have done without the pressure of HAVING to win the derby at Etihad , but it looks like that's the way it's gonna have to be for us to have any chance of title success this season ....... not to mention the fact that we're gonna HAVE to win all , or most , of other games to go with it!

still we must remain optimistic now that the likes of Gareth Barry and Mancini have finally woken up an' realised that we are now in the title run-in , with only six weeks of the season remaining and games fast running out , and they've finally pledged to show the urgency that should have been shown weeks ago !!!

The rags were shitting their pants in the last 15 mins.

The talk of them holding their nerve because of their experience is bullshit, they were bottling it badly & only a frightened ref stopped them from dropping points at home to Fulham, FULHAM !

If we win games, they will be under pressure & likely to make a mistake, end of.

It's up to us.

i'd hve given my right arm to be within 3 points and have a better goal average with 8 games to go from the start of the season were only disapointed because we had a five point lead and chucked it away so we have to start from this sat, like i said before match or better there results beat them and we win it end of

The original poster has me more worried about our chances now.

Firstly he predicts they will only win 3 of their last 8 games - even tho they have won nine of previous ten.

And even after that drop in pts/games ration he still only has us winning it by 2 pts.

Depressed

They will win at sunderland come on half the sunderland team is ex rags..

Don't quite see the logic here. If they have been offed by Fergie then surely they will have a point to prove. They don't owe him anything. O'Neill will have them up for it.

Didn't Wes Orange score the opening goal at the swamp this season....in his own net....

Any away game for United and City has the potential for dropped points. Would say that all home matches for both are pretty much guaranteed home wins.

I don't see them dropping many points at all but depressingly i see us doing so away from home as we have been doing recently. If we get our injured players back and a fit motivated Tevez then we might nick a few away but the games are fast running out.

If we are still within 3 points after Arsenal... then I think we can do it..
Any more, and it is going to be difficult and require an amazing cock up from them

Pretty much this. United can play as shit as they like, they will still win games. Either by dodgy decisions or by teams simply surrendering before the first whistle.

Truth is, it should never have got to this stage. If we don't win it, we can only blame ourselves. If we did the business at places we should have (WBA and Sunderland for starters) we'd be streets ahead.
