Put this here because I directly respond to Schole and Ferdinand in the write-up plus the criticism we've receieved for a supposed lack of atmosphere.

How Supporters Became The New Villains Of Modern Football

Your best piece yet mate. A cracking read, every word true and all the more disturbing for it.
Brought a smile to my face

Quite a good read, but if I am honest it did come across as a bit chip on shoulder. Not everyone who goes to games is on benefits and/or struggling to make ends meet. Yes, some are, many even. But many are not. And I could have done without the politics bit in the middle. More chips on shoulder about rich bankers etc.

Good stuff Steve and as said, deserves a much much wider audience, these people who criticize would do to remember, the cost of a matchday ticket and travel can be a weeks food shopping for some families, puts it into perspective.

excellent , lucky t. , disappointing that it will not see the light of day as an article in the mainstream media , unfortunately i have a preference for a more direct and concise appraisal . Scholes and Ferdinand are c*nts .

Great read. I agree with all of it. Have shared it with my lad who i was arguing with yesterday about the demonisation of fans by the likes of scholes. You really couldn't make it up could you. It would be funny if it wasn't so bloody sad.

nice, well done mate.

It echoes my sentiments exactly and i spend many hours hitting my head against a wall that is some of my friends' attitudes. The willingness to continually pay exorbitant prices because "well, we have to dont we?" is frightening.

I disagree. I read the politics element as simply an example of blaming the wrong people for a particular issue, which seems to be the main thrust of the article. Great piece in my opinion, well done mate.
