My response to Scholes and co

Put this here because I directly respond to Schole and Ferdinand in the write-up plus the criticism we've receieved for a supposed lack of atmosphere.

How Supporters Became The New Villains Of Modern Football

Your best piece yet mate. A cracking read, every word true and all the more disturbing for it.

Great article. For me the highlight is the link to society because I honestly believe this issue extends beyond football. The same people get the blame for all the countries woes and the fact that Adebayor can criticise anybody shows the parallel universe many privileged footballers live in

Arguably, the people who go every week and are not on big money are the most loyal and devoted supporters the game has ever had. Going to football back in the day did not really entail sacrifice, it was affordable. Now people are forced into choices, and some make big sacrifices in order to attend.

Frankly, it stinks. But it's all in line with the world we have built for ourselves.

Top class.
Hearfelt, fortright and well-written and presented.

Just one very polite reminder (if you haven't already thought of it): use the word 'defecating' rather than 'shitting' if you intend submitting it to a "family newspaper".

I can't remember the last time I read an article and agreed with every last sentiment. I've done my small bit and stuck it on Facebook.

Great stuff Toma. A piece which deserves wider recognition .

No credit for me for the nudge? ;-)

Haha I mentioned in the agenda thread that this wouldn't have been done without your urging and flattery ;)

In all seriousness it was your post that got me off my arse to write it.

Thanks for the feedback all. Really pretty blown away by it all to be honest.

Your writing gets better and better, mate. Sincerely.
