My YouTube channel - Episode 47 (P25)

Bloody thumbnail is telling me it's going to get wet and wild but not in the good way.

This episode wasn't really about the bridge even though you did manage to slip in some pertinent facts and waded in with some information.

It had to happen at some time mate it really did, but you handled it well.

A side note for you and a word of caution, you could have lost an ear or an arrant nostril to one of those vicious snapping Turtles they have lurking in water over there.

Good vid enjoyed it :)

Let’s just say I was happy to go under in that brook rather than some of the rivers / creeks that the bed is just laced with rocks and boulders! One slip there and I’ll have more than a headache!
I’ve filmed at 52 bridges now, so well ahead and doing another 6 this coming Sunday. Nothing eventful (to me) since this little bath time……

I appear in this podcast at the beginning and end of- for those of you who need help getting to sleep…….

Cracking video explaining where you are on the filming, great idea to not film deep into winter. You come across well for a manc and obviously fluent in covered bridge language.

Now I have to keep up and watch your latest offering before the Geordies kick off. You should really get that award on a chain like rappers do and when people ask you you can reply "Oh this? it's just a little award" :)

Another solid looking beefy number this one. Jesus that's some damage that bridge took the driver was probably running hooch and trying to evade the local comedy sheriff.

That climb down looks a bit iffy. Sounds like the train is going over your head there.

Incident free today apart from a busted eardrum, you've spoiled us with your abseiling over the last few weeks.

Finished putting together episode 45 this afternoon. Filmed it 3 weeks ago. I knew at the time i was stupid climbing down where I did, but watching back the footage I didn’t realise just how stupid I was…… I didn’t film the descent (needed both hands and feet on full alert to get me down to the river. The bridge is around 35ft high

Slowly slowly catchy Monkey, considering you film on your own chances taken give accidents an opportunity.

Episode 43

That's an old bridge, is it one of the oldest you have visited?

The green water looks that still it could almost be stagnant couldn't it? Thar "redness" of the skin could be described as an American pallor, you're morphing into a proper colonial.

The winter pic of that bridge is superb.

What's the worst that can happen? The last famous words of all deep African explorers that were never heard from again, but don't mind me please continue :)

Village (Waitsfield) - 1833. Taftsville - 1836. Westford - 1837. Sayer - 1839. Silk - c1840. Halpin - 1840. Hammond - 1842. Gold Brook - 1844. Pulp Mill - 1853/54

It’s the 7th oldest and I’ve been to 3 of the 6 in front of it.
This coming Thursday I’m going to Pulp Mill and Halpin bridges - one of which there are only 8 left like it in the whole of the US and this one is the only model still able to carry vehicles. The second bridge is a record breaker! Bring on Roy Castle

Now that's dedication.

The last bridge I found a little eerie what with the very still water and the way the bridge looked enclosed from within.

However you could have a picnic on that abutment :)

Yes that Otter Creek is the longest river wholly in Vermont and it is pretty much low lying so in this very dry period we have had (2 or 3 days rain in the past 3 to 4 months) there isn’t much force pushing it along. On Thursday I’m at the 5th of the 5 bridges on the creek and the furthest downstream - a remarkable bridge but the episode won’t be shown until late January / early Feb
