My YouTube channel - Episode 48 (P26)

Another cracking video, fortunately the bridge held after that flood.
Thanks :)
The episode in 2 weeks' time is 20 mins long and has incredible footage I swiped off youtube of a bridge that didn't have such a happy ending.....
Though next week's edition is my favourite so far. The bridge is 41 feet up from the river bed and I had a good mooch around down in the gorge

My best effort (if I don’t mind saying so myself) so far
Episode 8

Never argue with nature that bridge just being dragged away is incredible, and having a mill with running water one minute and then having no mill with no running water because it moved the next.

What was a bit odd was the railway track right next to the bridge, but great explanation why that was and the reasons for it. Could feel the womans sadness with her bridge gone.

The length of the river the very English names of the places it meanders around but the way that the river and bridge made the locals feel and what they felt when they lost it.

One small detail though, that looks like Bear country do you ever think "WTF is that noise?" :)

Thanks for watching!
This was a great project for me at this bridge. I filmed first (and under the bridge in the river) 22nd October and then once a week for the following 4 weeks as i kept finding more and more information about the bridge and the former route it took and then went looking for the remains of what was in the area.
It was only when watching back the finished edited film that I realised I actually didn't show the inside of this bridge even though i'd filmed a lot inside of it.
I learnt a big lesson when discovering lots of remains of mills and buildings in someone's large garden and filming from the outside of his property, to then seeing the land owner and asking if I could go on to his land for close up filming.
He politely refused (adding he'd actually prefer me to not even film at the covered bridge as he hates tourists......).
I agreed to respect his privacy and deleted the footage taken from his garden. The lesson learnt was to simply take the footage legally from outside of the property and don't ask questions!

Next week's episode is a mile down the river, with more Tropical Storm Irene footage and the story behind the name of the river with a tragic tale, taking me 50 miles south to another covered bridge in Massachusetts!

Cracking story attached to this bridge and the other one downstream, looks like this bridge escaped most of the structural damage last weeks video showed.

Forced marches
Murder
American colonial history

What's not to like mate.
Yes after the last two videos I'm afraid the next couple are just a bit less dramatic - though I'm able to walk on the ice on top of the river!
Yes how the bridge in this one stayed intact and last weeks didn't is puzzling seeing as today's bridge was completely engulfed where as last week's wasn't - it's all about the abutments and how strong they are.

When you doing the one in Mad River ?
From this map you can see the Waitsfield / Mad River where the red spot is.
I’ve just finished filming at the 15 bridges across the bottom 2 counties and have done 1 in the second county up from the bottom right
Will be filming at least 5 a day on each trip from now county by county.
So probably late March at Mad River. Depends how mad this snow stays though!
