My YouTube channel - Episode 48 (P26)

I was very proud to have received an “Outstanding Achievement” award from Okemo Valley TV at their annual awards event, presented to me by their Executive Director, Patrick Cody.
I had no idea how to edit or produce film content until I walked into the studio in October last year and Rebekah spent many patient hours working with me, teaching me how to edit and produce.

So for OVTV themselves to give me this award after just eight months is the highest compliment they can give me and a testament to the fantastic work that they do in the community with individuals and groups.
And the award is made from wood too, which is quite apt given my content!

Sorry I missed this (You really need to abuse those mod powers and sticky this thread ) :)

Archiving these bridges is a good thing and you genuinely deserve an award for it, in 30 years time when people are researching these bridges the material you are posting might actually be cited by them in their own videos and narratives.

Congrats again it's well deserved.

Yes and of course we may lose some of the bridges in 30 years time too, so this will be a record of each one.
Two bridges lost over the past 5 years are scheduled to be rebuilt but not until 2030 at the earliest - including this one lost by fire when dickheads set fire to a ski jet in the middle

If you need an hour of the bewildering range and diversity of spanners, used in the constuction of bridges? I'm here.

Fascinating throughout and, at times, extremely moving.

You know where to find me.

Oh and I've written the theme song. A little extra cream.

I’ll be in touch when I’ve filmed the remaining 62 bridges

Sorry @Mad Eyed Screamer ;-)

Well done mate, you must be very proud. When's the next video out?
A new episode is released every Sunday - BUT - the one for today I played back to myself after I left the studio early to watch the City game on Thursday. I didn’t play it until Friday and there was a technical glitch in that it froze for about 6 seconds and then jumped a head.
I couldn’t get to the studio Friday and they are shut over the weekend so I’ll be in there when it opens on Monday and sort it out so will be Monday afternoon UK time when it is out.

It’s a double episode so lasts 29 mins.

There are some great folk out there making great content with the help and support of these channels.
My series is being shown across 18 channels in Vermont

….launches in 3 days (Sunday)
And no…
It doesn’t mention City, The Smiths or Morrissey…..
With two introductory episodes, there will be 100 further episodes to be screened, one per week, every Sunday for the next 2 years…..
The link will be provided this coming Sunday…. Please like, subscribe and share….

Fair play, I’m too scared to post my little channel on a main stream thread.

Great start, Mill St my first ever home as a baby before it was knocked down.

Bit of technical zooming in this video, Granada reports awaits :) Nice to see wooden pegs rather than big industrial Victorian bolts. You've outdone yourself with the stills in this video, if that Willard bridge gets swept away it's going to have a long way to fall.

Did you break the river? It was going when I came here officer I didn't touch anything honest.

It's fine metal detecting country by the looks of it, maybe that's another idea for another video? Extraordinary Man And His Journeys With a Metal Detector ;-)

Yeah, best not go wading in there you have more videos to do.

Ohhhhh a twofer that's an event! That bridge genuinely looks a lot newer doesn't it? Take heed of the sign no leaping off there jeopardising later productions.

You'd have got down that river bank on a bit of old cardboard.

Another great video, keep 'em coming.

Thanks - my favourite bit - and new skill I learnt making this one - was how to slow down the film.
When I drove over I 90 , fortunately there was no one anywhere near behind me so I slowed down to about 20 miles an hour and filmed passing the bridges, and then slowed that down further in the studio!

Off work today and getting over last nights disappointment by finishing off the next 3 episodes. Completed what I had on each last week but went back to each one to film a few more pieces I had missed out.
All 3 very small bridges in a rural setting.
In next weeks episode I meet the grim reaper.
In the 2nd of the 3, the Jeep makes a cameo appearance!
The 3rd bridge appears in a Hitchcock film!

A bridge so good they named it twice :) I never heard of a King truss before and since watching these videos I can now spot them a mile off.

Having a laugh and a joke with a fella carrying a 6ft scythe in his hand took some balls. Going wading commando style is a bit adventurous but it saves you hauling leaky waders about with you.

They put sides on it to stop people falling in ;-)

Hahaha you met a celebrity, he looks chuffed to bits he;s showing someone interested in the bridge his photo in the calender fair play to him.

He said he has the calendar handy and shows everyone visiting the bridge his calendar.
He’s the Vermont Covered Bridge equivalent of some twat from Blue Moon going on Eggheads and going on and on about it
