Nadine Dorries

They are bolloxed in her seat it seems

She hasn't resigned yet.

Lib Dems still not been forgiven for enabling the Tories in 2010, and Labour now taking more votes from Tories than Lib Dems are, so far more likely that the anti-Tory squeeze will be to Labour's advantage. Reform UK might of course withdraw and support the Tory, and the Independent might do OK as the Independents are the largest "party" on the local council but Mackey is chair of the planning committee which isn't the most popular job.

The Tory candidate is the Police and Crime Commissioner. Apparently he'll still be doing his job going round talking to residents... so essentially being paid by the public to go round electioneering.

There‘s someone who deserves to have Dorries represent him.

I thought that too - this is why they will lose though - the Tories will not be able to mobilize their vote so its up to Labour and Lib Dems to get theirs out. A lot of people that guys age expected a massive change from Brexit so voted to Get Brexit Done. Voting for someone else will be an act of admission they were wrong and bought a lie - far more acceptable to them to hide at home behind the curtains and pretend its just nothing to do with them.

I agree with Brian

If I was a life peer who had been bestowed the role through a lifetime of dedicated work in a field of science or industry, then the idea of Nadine Dorries entering the House would be enough to make me step down with immediate effect.

And by that I mean immediately, not Dorries definition of the term.

Can you blame her though….the lot of them are self entitled, self serving cunts. Why not jump on the gravy train?? We are the mugs that keep voting for all these old etonians and the like instead of demanding a process that fits our purpose and the common good.

If there’s any better argument for scrapping the House of Lords and the whole gong system it’s Nadine.

Yes I can - she is being paid and claiming a fortune to represent Mid Beds where she was elected. She can mount whatever protest she wants to by simply stepping down and freeing up her time. She is one of a bunch of despicable freeloading MP's who need driving out of the House in an election although I wouldn't object to the use of a sharpened pitchfork or even a flame thrower

No wonder she is so devoted to Johnson, as they have so much in common.
The whole democratic process and being in power was always only ever a vehicle for self-aggrandisement and the recognition and adoration they desperately need to validate themselves.
They really are obvious examples of how much we need to reform the whole political process.
