I was just about to say that I'm a qualified electrician, really good at joinery, pretty competent at plumbing but fuck me I'm absolutely useless at plastering.

Plastering is a job all on its own, having been a general builder for over 40 years someone last year convinced me to plaster a small section of ceiling despite me telling them numerous times to get a pro to do the job, needless to say when I had finished it looked more like 1970s Artex than plaster :-)

Can understand that. I can turn my hand to most things around the house but plastering is a dark art. As you say just get a professional in, far cheaper and quicker in the long run and a much better end result.
