Cliff Sear, back row extreme right. I started watching City when he was still making the odd appearance in the mid 60s.

He was famed for his sliding tackles. I suspect that the ground staff breathed a sigh of relief when he departed.

Must have been just after his time with us - the records show he left in 1957. As you say, a great skipper and hard as nails. I never saw him play as my first game was in 1959, but my Dad used to tell me some great stories.

Sorry, but that's not correct. For instance, neither Barlow nor Sear are on that photo. What about Dave Ewing ? He's on the photo but not in the team listed !
