I follow a lot of teachers on Twitter, and from what I've read, it depends very much on what school you work for. A lot of people quit when they would be better just trying another school first. There also seems to be a thing about avoiding schools that have been judged outstanding, because OFSTED inspections are more of a tick box exercise nowadays, and it suggests that they're doing a very good job of appearing to do a good job to OFSTED, and not necessarily a great job giving a rounded education. Anyway good luck and don't kill yourself.
Thanks mate. Yeah I follow a lot of twitter and see good and bad. I've done a placement in an outstanding school for 2 months which was fantastic, and worked in a special measures school for 2 years which had many challenges but what the staff did for the children was nothing short of outstanding. I've done a year through the academisation process also so I've seen a very mixed bag. I'll use these experiences to try and scope out an ideal working environment, I'm all about that work-life balance (football and beer!).
