I think people have unrealistic expectations. Mid-week cup games always pull smaller crowds as many families/ kids can't attend and others for reasons of work, distance and money. Such is life.
Last time we won the league and entered the European Cup we pulled a crowd of 38,787 (we had 63K+ for the rags in the league). ECWC attendances anywhere from 25K-50K. Early round cup game attendances are always low. Thats just the way it is. This competition will follow the same pattern no doubt especially when you tot up all the money that has to be spent to attend all the games these days.
I'll be there for every game and loving it as I've waited a long time for it to come round again like many others, but the attendances won't matter a jot to me. We get some great atmospheres in some of these games no matter how many turn up on the night.
What will be will be. Bring it on.
